CNDH urges the three levels of government to establish a protocol for the care of children and adolescents in a context of mobility

The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) urges Mexican State authorities to coordinate actions, based on the best interests of the child, in order to develop social assistance models for migrant families traveling with children and adolescents (NNA). This with the purpose of receiving them in shelters and assistance centers, in accordance with the principles and rights contemplated in the General Law on the Rights of Children and Adolescents, as well as in the guiding principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and thus prevent their rights from being violated.

The CNDH is more autonomous than ever from the government, political parties and economic groups and operates as an ombudsman’s office

During the presentation of the 2020 Annual Report before the Permanent Commission of the Congress of the Union, she said: “we share the weariness of the victims in the face of impunity and the delay of responses, which I myself have suffered”, so she asked for support from the legislators of the Congress of the Union to strengthen this National Agency, to give it teeth and vindicate the model of “Attorney General of the Poor”, to which she added: “we are determined to improve the CNDH’s response capacity and we hope to walk this path hand in hand with the people, to put it at their service. In this task, of course, we hope to count on the support of this Sovereignty”.

Call to protect human rights of Mexican migrants in the face of U.S. regime change

The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) urges the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO), within the framework of its powers, to prioritize the observance of human rights and take the necessary actions to prevent and avoid that companies producing and marketing medical oxygen engage in practices that favor the shortage and increase in price of this product, essential for the care of patients with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) in our country.
