The victims’ mothers have been engines of legality, promoters of public policies

I do not want to let this day pass without sending greetings to Mexican mothers, especially those of disappeared and femicide victims, who sustain a heroic and exemplary struggle, who have made of their fight against the wrongs to which their daughters and sons have been subjected an ideal of life that restores hope in a country free of violence and in true peace.

The mothers of the victims have been engines of legality, promoters of public policies. Not only have they had to face their daily obligations as mothers and wives, and very often as the sole breadwinners of their homes, but they have also been guardians of the memories of infamies perpetrated by those who have violated the human rights and taken the lives of generations of women and men. Their perseverance in the struggle for the visibility of human rights violations through the establishment of associations, search committees, collectives and various participation forms, has sustained the ethics of a country that has historically resisted in the face of justice.

Therefore, on this emblematic day, I want to tell you that you can count on the CNDH, that from here we recognize your hard work, especially due to the obstacles and obstacles that many missing persons’ mothers face to access truth and justice, due to the lack of expeditious processes that allow the immediate location of daughters and sons, as well as the delay on obtaining the economic support to which you are entitled.

In this Autonomous Organism we recognize the historic role and courage of all those women mothers of victims who denounce, who do not conform, who protest and raise their voices so that all people human rights are respected. Without their persistence, the progress of justice and law in Mexico are inexplicable, and become vitally important in a country that has ahead of it the task of establishing human rights as a normality. To all of them, we say:

You are not alone!
