CNDH Presents Special Report on State Political Violence in Mexico

Integrates the whole context of the facts and the victims in a period from 1951 to 2016

Since its creation in February 2020, the Special Office to Investigate Repression and Enforced Disappearances due to Political Violence of the State During the Recent Past has been working on gathering documentation, integrating complaints, deepening existing investigations and opening new lines of investigation, resulting from which it is planned to issue a General Recommendation to the Mexican State.

As a progress of that work and as a framework for the recommendation, today we present the Special Report on State Political Violence in Mexico, which integrates the entire context of the events and victims of a period that covers, at least, from 1951 to 2016.

The repression of the Mexican State in those years was systematic, sheltered by the complicity and silence of many actors, which persists in many ways to this day, so it is necessary to rescue that memory and build with it the truth and justice for the victims.
