To investigate the femicides of Adriana López Rodríguez and Samara Arroyo Lemarroy.

The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) condemns the murders of Samara Beatriz López Rodríguez and Aurora Arroyo Lemarroy, reported missing on December 5 and 23, respectively, and found dead on January 6 and 7 in the municipalities of Actopan and Cosoleacaque, in the state of Veracruz.

missing on December 5 and 23, respectively, and found dead on January 6 and 7 in the municipalities of Actopan and Cosoleacaque, in the state of Veracruz.

In view of these serious events, the CNDH makes a strong appeal to the authorities of this entity to carry out an investigation with a gender perspective, in accordance with the established protocols to clarify these femicides and find those responsible, since, according to data provided by the Executive Secretariat of the National System of Public Security, from January to November 2020, the state of Veracruz registered 79 femicides, 92 intentional homicides and 144 culpable homicides, data that place it as the second state with the second highest number of femicides in the country.

The CNDH reproves all forms of violence against women, particularly those expressed in femicides, which are the maximum expression of violence against women, whose consequences are far-reaching and affect society in general. Femicidal violence is a constant threat to the safety of women, to their lives and integrity, and to the spaces where they develop. Therefore, it is imperative to guarantee access to immediate justice that inhibits and eradicates gender violence against women and girls.
