NHRC requested precautionary measures to Baja California authorities in favor of residents of “El Chaparral” campsite

Advice to the authorities to protect the human rights of migrants.

The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) requested precautionary measures to the Government of Baja California, the Ministry of Health, the National Guard, the National Migration Institute, the National Coordination of Civil Protection, the National System for the Integral Development of the Family, the Federal Attorney General’s Office for the Protection of Children and Adolescents, the System for the Integral Development of the Family of the State of Baja California and the Municipal President of Tijuana, Baja California, in order to safeguard the safety, physical integrity and life of persons in the context of the context of the migration of persons in the State of Baja California, Children and Adolescents, the System for the Integral Development of the Family of the State of Baja California and the Municipal President of Tijuana, Baja California, to safeguard the security, physical integrity and life of the people in the context of migration who are in the “El Chaparral” camp in that state.

Additionally, it requests the formation of a multidisciplinary group, composed of doctors, psychologists, social workers, lawyers, among others, to provide comprehensive care to minors, determine the best interests of the children and dictate the special protection measures they require; implement immediate actions to set up lodging places according to the number of migrants in the camp, to encourage the population to maintain social distance in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
