Pending debt with victims of the Tlatlaya case

CNDH urges authorities of the State of Mexico, FGR and SEDENA to comply with the victims

Reiterates the call to federal and state authorities to fully address Recommendation 51VG/2014

The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) urges the government and Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) to fulfill the debt owed to the victims of the events that occurred in the community of San Pedro Limón, municipality of Tlatlaya, State of Mexico. Seven years after these events, there is still a serious lack of action that prevents access to truth, justice and comprehensive reparation for persons in the situation of victims.

Similarly, the National Commission expressed its concern regarding the context of generalized structural violence that the country is going through, to which is added the use of lethal force by elements of the Mexican Army; Sedena is therefore urged to clarify the mechanisms used to implement lethal force from the chain of command, the chain of command and the so-called operation dragon within the framework of the security actions that these public forces, which must be carried out at all times with respect for the human rights of all persons.

We reiterate the call to the federal and state authorities to fully address Recommendation 51VG/2014 for the acts of violence in San Pedro Limón, municipality of Tlatlaya, State of Mexico and to show greater political will so that all the necessary procedures are carried out in order to ensure that people in the situation of victims obtain justice, reparation of the damage and guarantee of non-repetition and the due process of criminal investigations is carried out.
