CNDH condemns murder of Aranza Ramos, from the group Madres Buscadoras de Sonora.

State authorities are urged to carry out a thorough and prompt investigation.

The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) expresses its indignation and deeply regrets the murder of Aranza Ramos, who, according to the National Front Ni Una Menos, was deprived of her freedom and then executed on July 15 of this year, at her home in Guaymas, Sonora.

Aranza Ramos was an indirect victim of the disappearance of her husband, Bryan Omar Celaya Alvarado; that was the reason why she joined the Search Mothers of Sonora in December of last year, with these events there remains one more indirect victim, a 2 year old boy, now an orphan.

All of them are victims, like many others who have had to organize themselves to search for their relatives throughout the country, forced by the lack of governmental support, investing their own resources, digging up human remains with their own hands, in the hope of finding their relatives, and at the same time longing to find them alive and not in one of those excavations.

The Commission reiterates its commitment to accompany the victims, especially the collectives and families of searchers, and declares itself ready to formulate and support better institutional responses to protect the safety and rights of all persons who are forced to carry out search actions in our country. We do not want more dead searcher mothers!

Precautionary Measures.

The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) requested to several authorities of the state of Sonora the implementation of precautionary measures to safeguard the life, personal safety and physical and emotional integrity of the members of the collective “Madres Buscadoras de Sonora”, of its leader Ceci Patricia Flores Armenta, and of the relatives of the deceased defender Gladys Aranza Ramos Gurrola, as well as to search and locate Mr. Bryan Omar Celaya Alvarado, husband of the latter.

The measures were addressed to the commander of the National Guard, the governor of the state, the secretary of government, the secretary of Public Security, the Attorney General of Justice and the municipal president of Guaymas.
