Promotion and defense of human rights in Mexico

Everything must be in view, nothing must be hidden from the eyes of the people, it is necessary to join efforts to consolidate a culture of access to information, assured the president of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH), Rosario Piedra Ibarra, at the inauguration of the discussion “Integral Promotion and Defense of Human Rights in Mexico” in conjunction with the Commissioner President of the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI), Francisco Javier Acuña Llamas.

At the CNDH facilities, she added that this will allow Mexicans to fully exercise other fundamental rights such as those related to health, a dignified life, security and employment. Our country, she said, is experiencing a change of era in which the exercise of power begins to be seen from the perspective of service, exercising the powers of consensus, respect, openness and always exposing in a transparent way the reasons for the actions of public servants.

In the presence of the Executive Secretary of this Organization, Francisco Estrada Correa and officials of both institutions, Piedra Ibarra stressed that, to be closer to the victims, an agreement was signed so that the Transparency Unit reports directly to the presidency of the National Commission .
