Complaint opened against alleged acts of torture against Mario Aburto Martínez

  • The inmate is currently in CEFERESO No. 12 in Guanajuato.

Mario Aburto Martínez, who is deprived of his liberty in the Federal Center for Social Readaptation No. 12 CPS Guanajuato, filed a complaint that this National Human Rights Commission has agreed to initiate, in all the terms that he raises.

In the complaint initially filed by his relatives, the petitioners point out alleged acts that violate his human rights, namely that he is not receiving medical attention or the food he requires due to the chronic conditions he suffers from, which is why he is very weak and his health is deteriorating; but also that he has been the victim since 1994 to date of various acts such as cruel, inhuman, degrading treatment and torture, which violate his physical and psychological integrity.

In this regard, specialized personnel of this Autonomous Constitutional Body interviewed the aggrieved person, who ratified the above and expressed, orally, that he is also a victim of discrimination, since he is hindered from accessing and exercising all his rights due to the cause that originated the deprivation of his freedom, for which reason he requested the reopening of his case, since he considers it necessary that the whole truth be made known to society. By virtue of the above, this CNDH has opened the corresponding complaint file, and at the same time has issued precautionary measures in favor of Mario Aburto Martínez to the Head of the Administrative Deconcentrated Organ of Prevention and Social Readaptation, in order to carry out all those urgent actions that guarantee and protect his rights to health and his personal integrity.
