CNDH issues Recommendation to OADPRS for case in the CEFERESO of Tepic

Directed by the death of a person deprived of liberty diagnosed with COVID-19.

This National Commission detected that the authorities responsible for the CEFERESO in Tepic incurred acts and omissions that affected the legality, objectivity, efficiency, professionalism, honesty and respect, which must be observed in the performance of their employment, since during the stay of the victim in the CEFERESO he was not provided with the appropriate treatment and medical follow-up, since from August 6, 2020, at the time he presented symptoms compatible with COVID-19, it was necessary that he be tested for the detection of antibodies in order to provide him with the care he required, which occurred until his state of health worsened and the disease evolved.

For this reason, the CNDH formulated a series of recommendations to the Commissioner of Prevention and Social Rehabilitation, consisting of locating relatives or whoever has being affected by the death of the victim, and in coordination with the Executive Commission for Victim Care, providing him with full reparation for the damages caused, including fair and sufficient compensation for the human rights violations evidenced, in terms of the General Law on Victims, and registering him in the National Registry of Victims so that he has access to the Aid Fund , Assistance and Integral Reparation, likewise, be granted the medical, psychological and / or tanatological attention appropriate to your situation, in order to provide necessary conditions for a dignified life.
